What We Like About Armour All Ash Utility Vacuum

At only 7lb it’s very lightweight and easy to walk around with, especially with the 10ft power cord.

That cord and its ample hose don’t mean storage problems. The whole cord and part of the hose are stored very easily inside the cleaner itself, making it a very compact machine.

The Armour comes with a reusable cloth filter and foam sleeve, as well as a 2-in-1 utility nozzle. You even get a special nozzle to clean your car!

What We Don’t Like About Armour All Ash Utility Vacuum

We found it to be more of a multi-purpose household vacuum, rather than a specialist one for ash. Its power and suction just aren’t strong enough for that purpose.

The 2.5-gallon capacity means that it has to be emptied and cleaned frequently.

After cleaning the filter for the first time, it shot out a plume of dust and debris when we started it again.

PROS

It comes with everything most will need for simple cleaning
Great little vacuum for auto-detailing
The small attachment brush for the car radio and console area works great without scratching
Exceptionally great value budget vacuum

CONS

It can only really handle minor jobs given its low horsepower/suction
The small wand attachment could pick up some of the wet powder, but none of the other attachments would pick up any powder at all
It just stopped on its own with no warning and wouldn’t turn back on

The Channellock vac is designed for both indoor and outdoor use on your ash-residue appliance. Although only for cold particles.

Its 8-amp motor is relatively quiet and it has a strong and sturdy wheeled base for easy maneuverability. It can conveniently be reversed to use as a blower.

It comes with a heat-resistant filter, an 8ft power cord with a handy storage wrap, and a 4ft aluminum hose. It also has LED lights onboard the hose.

What We Like About Channellock 6 Gal. Ash Vacuum

Even with its 6-gallon tank, it’s easy to empty. Just remove the powerhead to discard the waste.

The Channellock’s top handle makes it easier to carry, even though weighing 12 pounds. And you also have wheels to move it around.

As with some, but not all models we reviewed, the LED light on the hose is very handy and makes you wish that all vacuums had.

What We Don’t Like About Channellock 6 Gal. Ash Vacuum

Being for cold ash only is an inconvenience, always having to wait a day or two for your ash to properly cool.

With a 6-gallon tank, the 4ft hose is quite limiting, we’d have liked, or even expected, longer.

PROS

The LED work light is very helpful
Good for fireplaces but also as a general vacuum

CONS

Just for cold ash, and not warm
The hose is too short for many jobs
The filter bag clogs up quickly
